WHAT IS INTRODUCTION TO ENGINEERING & DESIGN?

I.E.D.

Introduction to Engineering and Design is the first course you will take when you begin your journey into the Engineering PLTW pathway. This class teaches you all the aspects that will lead you up to the other engineering classes and is one of the three Foundation courses required to graduate with a PLTW diploma. IED is the pre-requisite class to every engineering class offered at Firestone.

"Students dig deep into the engineering design process, applying math, science, and engineering standards to hands-on projects. They work both individually and in teams to design solutions to a variety of problems using 3D modeling software, and use an engineering notebook to document their work."
