WHAT IS PRINCIPLES OF ENGINEERING?

P.O.E.

The Principles of Engineering class at Firestone High School is often considered one of the most important classes for an engineering student. This is due to it being an introduction course to physics and materials, teaching students the basics to many varieties of engineering fields. While it is important, it is also a very challenging class, often being compared to a college level physics class. It is also one of the three Foundation classes.

"Through problems that engage and challenge, students explore a broad range of engineering topics, including mechanisms, the strength of structures and materials, and automation. Students develop skills in problem solving, research, and design while learning strategies for design process documentation, collaboration, and presentation."
